Idler Pulley, Relay Roller, for Alternator Belt (OEM) for B7-RS4

This is the actual alternator belt idler pulley or relay roller for the alternator drive belt on the B7-RS4 with the 4.2L FSI V8. The bearings in this pulley sometimes fail causing squeaking noises at the front of the motor. This is an OEM part made by Audi. This is the same part that came on your car from the factory.

NOTE: There is also a a Tensioner Assembly with a pulley on it that has similar bearings and can fail and make noise as well and is separate from this part. You can find this piece in our store as well. Due to the labor involved we recommend replacing it at the same time you change this relay roller, since sometimes it is hard to tell which pulley is squeaking. Please go back one section or search for “Relay Roller Idler RS4” in our store. Finally, we also recommend changing the drive belt which we sell in this section.

And of course if you would like to upgrade your RS4, we recommend either replacing your crank pulley with our Lightweight Crank Pulley or completely upgrading your belt setup with our JHM 6-Rib Lightweight Crank and Alternator Pulley setup. Finally, while you have the front end of the car off, we would recommend replacing your Torque Mount with our 034Motorsport Density Line Torque Mount. It’s best to do all of these items at the same time to save labor.
