Here at JHM, we’ve been rebuilding the 01E transmissions since 2006 and we are very familiar with them. Not only have our JHM Rebuilt Transmissions set records in some of the world’s fastest Audis, they’ve also been satisfying B5-S4 and C5-A6 2.7T owners for years. In keeping with this history of excellence and customer satisfaction, this 01E is a rebuilt transmission that has been fully torn down, inspected, and REBUILT with JHM Performance parts.
This is NOT a refurbished transmission with less than OEM quality parts installed. If you’re going to increase the horsepower of your car (doubling it in most Stage 3 build cases) and then spin the motor past the OEM RPM limit, why would you run a transmission in your car with ground down, less than OEM-quality parts? Unlike other rebuilt transmissions on the market, this JHM rebuild transmission is completely rebuilt, featuring JHM Performance parts that perform better than the OEM parts. We make performance products for performance cars that have been modified beyond the factory specifications. Why buy re-coated and worn out parts that will only work on a stock-ish K03 car? You’re spending money on your motor build, your turbos, and your other parts, why wouldn’t you spend the money on your transmission? Our transmissions are performance proven and built and tested for performance cars. Why would you run anything less?

The JHM-Performance 01E 6-speed Full Rebuild Kit w/ JHM Updated 1-2 Collar INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
– Transmission Rebuild Video on DVD (1 hour, 47 minutes in length)
– JHM PERFORMANCE CARBON synchronizer rings (6) w updated 1-2 synchronizers included
– JHM Updated 1-2 Shift Collar (Outer collar only; the inner collar never fails. If yours is locked up, just press it apart and install it in the JHM Updated Collar.) The outer collar is the part that causes 1st and/or 2nd gear to lock up when it fails.
– OEM synchronizer springs (6)

OPTIONS:
JHM 4:1 Center Differential Upgrade: Select ‘yes’ if you want your JHM Rebuilt Transmission to have our JHM 4:1 Center Differential Upgrade pre-installed. This modification increases the amount of torque that the Torsen differential in your transmission can send to the rear wheels of your car. From the factory, the bias in the differential allows up to two times the amount of the torque to be sent to the rear wheels as the front wheels. With the JHM Center Differential Upgrade, we increase the amount of torque that can be sent to the rear wheels to up to four times the amount. This upgrade gets your car to behave a little more like a rear wheel drive car while still maintaining the superior control of quattro all wheel drive.

Information About Freight, Labor, and Core Charges:
Please select “No Shipping, Local Pickup” as your shipping option when you place your order. Once your rebuilt JHM Transmission purchase is received, we will contact you to verify the shipping address and the freight options you would like. We will contact you to collect the freight charges for shipping your transmission to you based on your location and needs. Additionally, we can work with you to arrange return shipping of your old transmission core. Shipping costs will vary based on your location and needs but should fall within $150 to $300 each way for customers in the Continental United States. Please call or email us for shipping quotes to international addresses.
Core Charge: Unfortunately as of 7/17 we no longer offer the option for a core charge. This is because it has become increasing difficult to source cores that are in good rebuildable condition. More than 90% of the 01E transmissions we receive are needing 1000 to 2000 worth of hard parts (collars, gears, etc.). If you are suspect about the rebuildability of your 01E transmission, it would be a safer bet to NOT send it into us for a rebuild (contact us and we can help you determine). If you are looking for something besides the 01E to use, we would highly recommend the 0A3 transmission swap (we have swap components available). The 0A3 is a very liable option for people to rev past the stock rev limit, as the OEM 3 -piece synchros can handle over 8500RPM (We tested 9000RPM in our RS4).
**Note for Customers Sending Their Transmission to JHM for Rebuild:** When we receive your transmission, we will perform a full inspection of the transmission (gears, collars, mainshaft, case, bearings, etc…), inform you of the findings and then work with you to get you the new or used gears/hard parts that you need or want for your specific build, desires, power levels, driving style, etc…
Early vs. Late Selector Shaft Cap for Cross Rod: Our transmission will ship with the EARLY style Selector Shaft Cap. You will need to make sure that your cross rod matches the selector shaft cap that you end up putting on the transmission before installation.
Reverse Switch and Speed Sensor: We leave the reverse light switch and speed sensor installed in the transmission.
**SHIPPING NOTE:** ALL JHM FULLY REBUILT Transmission are shipped EMPTY, i.e. WITHOUT gear oil. Don’t forget to add 4x Quarts of our either our Red Line or Motul Manual Transmission Gear Oil to your order so you can fill your newly rebuilt transmission for installation.
